Happy Summer Solstice
The summer solstice is usually on the 22 December. However, as it is a leap year, it is tonight at approximately 9.02pm (AEDT).
The Summer Solstice is when the Sun is at its highest point in the sky, resulting in the longest day and shortest night of the year. It is a time to focus on our growth and conscious expansion and to contemplate the abundance the sun provides us.
Spend some time in nature and send your energy and love back to the sun.
Symbols associated with the Solstice, that can enhance your connection during this time include the spiral and fire. These symbols have been used traditionally since ancient times in ceremony to acknowledge the life force within us and to give back to mother nature and the sun. You could use these symbols in your own way. Create a spiral in your garden from the fallen leaves, rocks, native grasses or flowers scattered about and or carefully light a candle.
Connecting with the cycles in nature help us all to understand that there is more to life that just 'I'. That there is something larger that intrinsically connects us all.
It's the time to ground ourselves, contemplate the cyclical nature of all things, accept where we are right now, while acknowledging our growth and expansion.
May the Summer Solstice enhance and nurture a deeper connection with and respect for nature .
