Private Health Insurance (PHI) Rebates for Naturopathic Consultations Reinstated
After years of tireless advocation, Private Health Insurance (PHI) rebates have been reinstated for Naturopathic consultations! YAY!
This was made possible due to relentless advocacy from Naturopathic Associations, such as Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA), and industry bodies. An abundance of evidence-based research was compiled proving that the services Naturopaths provide and the remedies we use are backed by high-quality evidence-based scientific research.
Some of the research presented can be found in the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Book, ‘Naturopathy: Practice Effectiveness, Economics & Safety of Naturopathy’, edited by Iva Lloyd, Amie Steel and Jon Wardle.
As I always say, Naturopathy is not a belief system it is an evidence-based modality backed by science.
Health Minister, Mark Bulter approved the new regulations to take effect in 2025 with the rollout to begin in early 2026. During this time PHI funds have been working behind the scenes to set up the technology and platforms required to support this transition.
DOT Naturopathic Dispensary invoices have been updated with my practitioner provider number and item codes to make claiming easy for you.
